You’re buying a home with home security components
A new house may come with a security system. All the devices work, are placed in the right spaces, and are ready to go. In this case, just pick up the phone to call and set up a new monitoring contract. A Vivint expert will still come out to make sure there are no usability issues, and they could offer ideas on an upgrade or two. It's a fast trip, and you can have your monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you get some new devices.
The previous owners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to you for a small set-up fee to make your life a snap. If the outgoing residents are moving to an apartment complex or retirement community, you keeping the security service might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and bring your home security components with you
You might need to take your old Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. That’s pretty easy to accomplish, as most smart devices are portable. You can remove each alarm or camera by yourself or contact a professional expert to take care of your devices. Then our installers will put in the same features -- and any smart services you want to add -- in your new home. The home security contract will remain the same.
